20 Questions with Shelby Brierley-Jones

We are thrilled to introduce you to the newest member of our Visions Design family, Shelby Brierley-Jones! As a Marketing Assistant, Shelby brings a fresh perspective and a wealth of enthusiasm to our team. We recently had the chance to sit down with her and dive into a conversation that allowed us to get to know her better.

Shelby opens up about her background, her passions, and the unique experiences that have shaped her into the talented professional she is today. Join us as we discover the story behind the smiling face behind the scenes at Visions Design.

If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go and why?

I’ve got a long list of places I’d like to see… but South Africa is definitely at the top of the list and I’d love to go on a Safari

What’s your favourite book or book series, and what do you love about it?

The subtle art of not giving a f*** – it was lockdown so thought I’d try something new. OR Maybe Baby by Kate Lawler.

If you could have dinner with anybody dead or alive, who would it be and what would you ask them?

Gordon Ramsey for sure.

What’s your go-to karaoke song, and can you give us a little sample?

Shackles, Praise you by Mary Mary – it’s my go-to in the gym or a good old classic, Purple Rain by Prince.

Are you a morning person or a night owl? What’s your ideal time of day?

A night owl for sure, but more so because I can never give in and go to bed, I have huge FOMO.

If you had a magical power, what would it be and how would you use it?

I’d time travel and spend one last day with my nanna & grandad.

What’s the most interesting or unique job you’ve ever had before joining us?

Childcare practitioner – a little bit of a wild move for me but also one of the hardest jobs.

Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies that people might not know about?

I really haven’t – I’m an open book.

What’s your favourite type of cuisine, and do you have a favourite dish from that cuisine?

I love anything Italian! Or a noodle pad thai.

If you could be a character in any movie, who would you choose and why?

Naomi is played by Margot Robbie in the Wolf of Wall street. It’s one of the best films ever!

Are you a dog person, a cat person, or something else entirely?

Definitely a dog person, I’ve grown up with them from being little and have a black lab call Ebby who’s my shadow.

What’s the most adventurous thing you’ve ever done or would like to do?

I took a bath outside surrounded by a family of lions.

If you could instantly master any skill, what would it be?

The stock market…

What’s your favourite season of the year, and what do you enjoy most about it?

Autumn/winter – I love a chunky knit, frosty walk, an open fire and a cosy pub with a baileys hot chocolate.

Do you have any unique or quirky phobias?

Wooden ice lolly stick – it goes through me!

What’s your proudest accomplishment, either personally or professionally?

Personally, marrying my husband and our beautiful little girl. Professionally, being able to travel and work on some amazing TV campaigns.

If you were given a day to do anything you wanted with no limitations, how would you spend it?

This needs some thought… but I’d wake up overlooking water.

What’s your favourite type of music, and do you have a favourite artist or band?

I’m a little bit of an old soul and I like a bit of all sorts but I’m a 90’s child.

If you were stranded on a deserted island and could only bring three items, what would they be?

The first question is how long am I stranded for? I’d take A fishing rod, a walkie talkie and my pillow.

What do you love about working at Visions?

As cliche as it sounds, my work colleagues as they make everyday different.
