SERIOUSWORK is a LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator training provider.

The Challenge

SERIOUSWORK, a leader in LEGO® Serious Play® facilitator training, came to us with a website that no longer reflected their rapidly expanding business. They wanted to refresh their online presence to match the high expectations of their growing roster of clients, which includes some of the world’s biggest brands like Coca-Cola, Spotify, BMW, HSBC, and Google. The old site was clunky and hard to navigate, with users finding it difficult to book trainings or even understand the services on offer. SERIOUSWORK needed a website that could handle their growing global presence, while making it simple for users to explore their training offerings and book sessions with ease.

Our approach began with a deep dive into SERIOUSWORK’s customer and user journey. We wanted to ensure that the website not only educated users about what LEGO® Serious Play® is, but also made it incredibly easy to book training. The strategy was clear: inform first, then drive action. We put considerable pre-planning into designing the site to cater to a diverse range of businesses, from small teams to corporate giants. Every decision was made with their rapidly growing international audience in mind, ensuring a smooth experience for users regardless of whether they were exploring on desktop or mobile.

UX/UI

We knew that the user experience needed to be engaging, dynamic, and intuitive. To achieve this, we added subtle on-scroll transitions and loading animations to keep the site feeling lively and interactive. Various call-to-action banners were strategically placed throughout the site, encouraging users to dive deeper into the content and ultimately book their training. Interactive elements like hover states added a layer of engagement, making the website feel more responsive and tactile. Each interaction was designed to build interest and guide the user toward the next step, whether that was learning more about LEGO® Serious Play® or booking a training session.

Web Design

Web design The new website design needed to handle a lot of content while remaining easy on the eye and effortless to use. Our design approach was clean and professional, yet comprehensive, breaking down large chunks of information into bite-sized sections that were easy to digest. Inspired by the playful, structured nature of LEGO®, we developed a "bento box" style layout, where everything fits together cohesively – like LEGO pieces! While it doesn’t replicate LEGO blocks, the design draws on the same energy of structure, organisation, and creativity. Every piece of information was carefully organised, with the goal of making each training easy to understand while encouraging exploration. This balance of information and simplicity gave the site a modern, professional look, perfect for attracting large international companies.

Prototyping

Before development began, we created detailed prototypes in Figma to show how the web design would look. This allowed us to test different state changes, transitions, and interactive elements to ensure a seamless user experience. The prototypes were an essential part of refining the design and making sure every element worked perfectly. Prototyping didn’t stop for web design. It also included an interactive map. To highlight SERIOUSWORK’s international presence, we created an animated map that dynamically displays their global reach. The map, which fits seamlessly within their brand guidelines, allows users to visualise the company's worldwide impact, building trust with potential clients and giving a clear sense of the scale of their operations.

Mobile responsiveness

With an ever-increasing number of users visiting websites on mobile devices, we made sure the SERIOUSWORK website was fully responsive. We created specific mobile designs to ensure that the site looked great and functioned perfectly across all screen sizes. The mobile version retains all the features of the desktop site but optimises the layout for smaller screens, ensuring that navigation is simple, and content remains clear and accessible on mobile devices.

Web Development

Built on WordPress, the new website was designed to scale as SERIOUSWORK continues to grow. We integrated key tools such as HubSpot, Pipedrive, and Circle to help them build and manage their global community of facilitators and clients. These integrations support both CRM functionality and community-building initiatives, helping SERIOUSWORK manage its international network more effectively. We also implemented an e-commerce solution, enabling users to purchase training directly from the site. This seamless integration of training sales has made it easier for users to book and pay for sessions, streamlining the overall booking process and reducing friction for the customer.

Digital Marketing

One key aspect of the project was optimising SERIOUSWORK's site for search engines. We began by gathering extensive data to assess where their old site stood in terms of SEO and built an SEO strategy to boost their visibility. From keyword research to meta descriptions and on-page optimisations, we “injected” SEO into every corner of the site. This ensures SERIOUSWORK's trainings are easy to discover by companies around the world, helping to drive organic traffic and increase bookings.
